About Stress-Space

Stress-Space Ltd (SSL) was founded in 2017 by research staff fromThe Open University (UK) to meet the growing importance of residual stress engineering in validating the design, manufacture, inspection and performance of structures.

SSL was selected to participate in the prestigious ESA BIC UK Incubation Programme and successfully developed an adaptive robotic X-ray diffraction system for mapping surface residual stress across complex structures.

In 2021, SSL completed a SPRINT funded research project with The Open University providing unique solutions for measuring residual stress in additive manufactured components. SSL is the UK Distributor for robotic X-Ray diffraction equipment (X-Raybot made by MRX Mesures Rayons X).
